Air Injection (AIO) Iron & Sulfur Removal

Private wells across Manatee, Sarasota and surrounding counties commonly pull up dissolved iron, manganese and hydrogen sulfide. You can’t see dissolved iron in a fresh glass, but the moment it hits air it oxidizes — which is why you get orange staining in toilets and tubs, rusty spots on laundry, and that unmistakable rotten-egg smell at the tap.

An air-injection oxidizing (AIO) filter fixes all three at once. As water enters the tank it passes through a pocket of compressed air held at the top; the oxygen instantly oxidizes the iron, manganese and sulfide into solid particles, and the filter media below traps them. Every night the system backwashes automatically, rinses the captured contaminants to drain, and draws in a fresh air pocket — so there are no chemicals to mix, no salt to haul and nothing to refill.

Because iron and sulfur foul softeners and reverse-osmosis membranes, the AIO belongs first in the treatment train — it protects everything downstream. If your water is also hard, we pair the AIO with a softener; if you want spot-free drinking water, we finish at the kitchen with reverse osmosis.
