What is in local water here
City water (Manatee County): much of the supply is surface water from Lake Manatee, treated with chloramine (a longer-lasting disinfectant than chlorine), plus hard minerals. Common complaints: pool smell/taste, spots and scale, dry skin. Note: Florida ended community-water fluoridation in July 2025, so homes on city water are no longer getting added fluoride.
Well water (Parrish, Myakka City, east Manatee, coastal areas): private wells are not disinfected by anyone but the owner, so the range is wider — iron (orange stains), sulfur (rotten-egg smell), tannins (yellow/tea color), low pH (blue-green stains), bacteria, and high TDS (salty taste). The only way to know your water is to test it.
Every system we install — and what it fixes
- Water Softener — removes hard-water minerals (real softening, not salt-free conditioning)
- Chlorine & Chloramine Filtration — catalytic carbon that actually reduces chloramine
- Softener + Carbon Combo — both problems in one — and the carbon protects the softener from high chloramine
- Iron & Sulfur (Air Injection) — no-salt, no-chemical fix for iron and sulfur on most wells
- Chlorine Injection — treats heavy iron, sulfur, and bacteria at the source — the fix box companies cannot do
- Acid Neutralizer — raises low pH to stop blue-green copper corrosion
- Sediment Pre-Filter — clears sand and grit, protects everything downstream
- UV Disinfection (Viqua) — kills bacteria and viruses with light, no chemicals
- Tannin Filter — removes yellow/tea color and softens
- Reverse Osmosis Drinking Water — under-sink RO for lead, PFAS, nitrates and more (NSF/ANSI 58)
- Whole-Home Reverse Osmosis — for salty, high-TDS water at every tap — a system most companies do not offer

How we are different
We install certified equipment you can verify (look up the WQA Gold Seal by model), build on name-brand Clack valves so you are never trapped, put the warranty in writing, and recommend based on a real water test — not a script. Our own techs do the work, and we will tell you when a single system is all you need. No 3-hour pitch, no pressure.

“I cannot say enough amazing things about this company and system! We had three companies come out and Hydrology stood out on every level.”
“We’ve had our system now a month and absolutely love it. My wife is a hair beautician with over 30 years of experience and definitely can tell the difference with the water.”
“Wow, I can definitely feel a difference in my hair, skin, and when I wash my hands. I knew getting a water softener was a priority and I’m so glad I decided to go with Hydrology.”

Do I have city water or well water problems?
City water in Manatee County usually means chloramine (pool smell) and hard water (spots, scale). Wells vary more: iron staining, sulfur smell, tannins, low pH, bacteria, or high TDS. A free in-home test confirms exactly which you have.
What is the first step?
A free, no-obligation in-home water test. Every recommendation starts from your actual water, not a guess or a script.
Are you certified?
Yes. We install WQA Gold Seal certified equipment, which you can look up by model in the WQA or NSF directory. We are firefighter-founded, family-owned, and WQA and FWQA members.
Do you use subcontractors?
No. Our own trained technicians do every install and service call, and the tech who tests your water is the one who installs your system.
What areas do you serve?
Bradenton, Manatee County, Parrish, Palmetto, Lakewood Ranch, Sarasota, and the surrounding Suncoast.
