How we work
The person you meet is the person who does the work.
We set expectations, then we meet them.
You’ve probably dealt with a salesperson who’d say anything to get the deal. Here, the person who tests your water is the person who installs your system and services it afterward. So we tell you what it will do, what it won’t, and what it costs to keep up, before you decide.
Connected the right way for your pipe.
Copper, PEX-A, PEX-B, CPVC, PVC, even old galvanized: each one is joined differently, and we work with all of them. On copper we cut the line and press the new fittings on with a press tool. PEX stays PEX the whole way. CPVC stays CPVC or transitions to PVC, depending on the job.
Flexible on where it goes.
The easiest spot to install isn’t always the one you want to look at. We have the tools and the plumbing skill to consider other places: the side of the house, behind the landscaping, a tight garage corner. We’ll tell you what each one involves, and if a spot doesn’t make sense, we’ll tell you that too.
Already have a quote, or were told it has to go in one spot? A second opinion doesn’t cost anything. We’ll test your water, look at the space and tell you what we’d do.
What actually sets us apart
Our own techs install it
The person who comes to your home is the one who installs it — no subcontractor handoff. When a job truly needs a licensed plumber for permits or code, we bring in the licensed plumber we work with. The plumbing is clean, done with care, and something we’re proud to show you.
Name-brand, serviceable equipment
We build on Clack metered valves — not a mystery part. They regenerate on your actual water use, not a timer, so you’re not wasting salt and water. And because they’re a standard, name-brand part, they can be serviced down the road. You’re never locked in.
Certified, not just “tested”
Our equipment carries the WQA Gold Seal and is certified to reduce hardness and chlorine. Our catalytic carbon is rated up to 2,000,000 gallons. “Tested to a standard” and “certified to a standard” are not the same thing — we’ll show you the difference.
We test first, then recommend
Every recommendation starts with a free in-home water test, because your water is specific to your address. We recommend what your water calls for, not what hits a quota — and we’ll happily tell you when you don’t need something.
Local, and here to stay
Firefighter-founded and family-owned, with hundreds of installs across Manatee and Sarasota. We’re not a national chain routing you to a call center — we’re the neighbors your neighbors already use.
Real hands-on know-how
When wells need chlorination for bacteria or heavy iron, that’s home turf: our owner spent years running commercial pools, so metering pumps, contact time, and chemistry are second nature. We treat the cause, not just the symptom.
What to watch out for anywhere you shop
- A “lifetime warranty” on unbranded equipment. Ask who the manufacturer is and get the coverage in writing. No name, no paper trail, no warranty.
- Salt-free “conditioners” sold as softeners. They don’t remove hardness — they’re not the same thing.
- A quote before a water test. If nobody tested your water, they’re guessing.
- Subcontracted installs. Ask if the person installing is the company’s own tech.
- High-pressure “today only” pricing. Good water treatment doesn’t need a countdown clock.

“But they told me it’s a lifetime warranty…”
Here’s the question worth asking before you sign anything.
We hear it all the time — a homeowner was promised a “lifetime warranty” on their water system. It sounds great. But a warranty is only worth the company standing behind it, and two questions decide whether it means anything: who is the manufacturer, and is there a paper trail?
If the equipment isn’t a recognizable, branded system — or the company that sold it moves, renames, or closes — there’s often no manufacturer to call and no record the warranty ever existed. We’ve walked into homes with a “lifetime” sticker on a tank nobody can identify. When we don’t know who made it, no one can honor that promise — and neither can we.
So we do it the opposite way. We install name-brand, certified equipment — primarily Puronics, owned by publicly-traded Franklin Electric. The warranty is manufacturer-backed, in writing, and tied to real serial numbers — and we service it locally. Big-company backing, local hands. On custom builds we use name-brand Clack valves and quality media, with the coverage in writing.

Who installs my system?
The same person who tested your water and gave you the price. He installs it, shows you how it works, and is the one who comes back to service it. There’s no hand-off to a crew you haven’t met.
How do you connect to my main water line?
It depends on what your main line is made of. We work with copper, PEX-A, PEX-B, CPVC, PVC and galvanized. On copper, we cut the line and press the new fittings on with a press tool. PEX stays PEX the whole way. CPVC either stays CPVC or transitions to PVC, depending on the job. We’ll show you what your home has and how we’ll tie in before we start.
Can the system go somewhere other than the garage?
Often, yes, when it’s reasonable. We look at where your main line comes in and what it would take to reach the spot you have in mind. Some locations add work and cost, and a few don’t make sense. We’ll tell you which before you decide.

“Wow, I can definitely feel a difference in my hair, skin, and when I wash my hands. I knew getting a water softener was a priority and I’m so glad I decided to go with Hydrology.”
