Flagship drinking water

Puronics Micromax 8500

Our most-certified reverse-osmosis system — bottled-water taste at your kitchen tap, tested and certified to reduce the contaminants that matter most, including PFAS.

Puronics Micromax 8500 reverse-osmosis system
  • Bottled-water taste straight from the tap.
  • Certified to reduce PFAS (PFOS/PFOA), lead, arsenic & fluoride.
  • Also reduces chromium, TDS, chlorine, taste & odor.
  • Reduces emerging compounds (BPA, pharmaceuticals).
  • WQA Gold Seal · NSF/ANSI 42, 53, 58 & 401 certified.

The Micromax 8500 is our flagship reverse-osmosis system — the one to choose when you want the most thorough drinking water we offer. It carries more independent certifications than almost anything on the shelf, including the NSF/ANSI 53 certification for PFOS and PFOA — the “forever chemicals” more and more Florida homeowners are asking about. Great water for drinking, coffee, ice and baby formula, right at the kitchen sink.

Certified, not just claimed

What each certification means for you

NSF/ANSI 58

Reverse Osmosis

This is the core RO standard. The 8500 is independently tested and certified to reduce dissolved contaminants including lead, arsenic, fluoride, hexavalent & trivalent chromium, barium, cadmium, copper, radium, selenium, total dissolved solids and turbidity. What it means for you: the stuff you can’t see or taste is verified reduced before it reaches your glass.

NSF/ANSI 53

Health Effects — incl. PFAS

Certified to reduce contaminants with a health effect — including PFOS and PFOA (the “forever chemicals,” PFAS) and VOCs. What it means for you: real, tested protection against the contaminants that matter most for your family’s health.

NSF/ANSI 401

Emerging Compounds

Certified to reduce trace modern contaminants like BPA, ibuprofen, naproxen and estrone. What it means for you: it handles the newer pharmaceutical and chemical traces most filters ignore.

NSF/ANSI 42

Aesthetic Effects

Certified to reduce chlorine, taste and odor. What it means for you: water that actually tastes and smells clean at the tap.

NSF/ANSI/CAN 372

Lead-Free

Certified lead-free materials. What it means for you: the system itself never adds lead to your water.

WQA Gold Seal

Independent audit

The Water Quality Association independently verifies the product performs as claimed and that its materials are safe, with annual facility audits. What it means for you: a third party — not the manufacturer — stands behind these claims.

Independently certified — and you can check it yourself

Every certification above is listed in the Water Quality Association’s public Gold Seal database — you can look up Puronics and the Micromax 8500 and see exactly what it’s certified to reduce. That’s independent proof, not a sales claim. Ask a competitor to show you the same.

Common questions

Does the Micromax 8500 really reduce PFAS?
Yes — it’s independently certified to NSF/ANSI 53 for PFOA/PFOS (the PFAS “forever chemicals”), along with VOCs. That certification is exactly what separates it from an ordinary under-sink filter. See our drinking water systems.
How is it different from a cheap RO from a store?
Certification and reduction range. The 8500 is NSF/ANSI certified across 58, 53, 401 and 42 to reduce a long, specific list — arsenic, fluoride, lead, PFAS, VOCs, pharmaceuticals and more — and we install and service it. A boxed store unit rarely carries that breadth of certification.
What exactly does it remove?
Depending on the contaminant: arsenic, barium, cadmium, copper, fluoride, chromium, lead, radium, selenium, TDS and turbidity (NSF 58); PFOA/PFOS and VOCs (NSF 53); BPA, estrone, ibuprofen and naproxen (NSF 401); and chlorine taste/odor (NSF 42). Each is an independent, verifiable certification.
How often do the filters need changing?
On a typical schedule we’ll go over at install — and we handle it for you. Ask about a maintenance plan so your system always performs to its certified spec. See maintenance & service.
Is it worth it over the Micromax 7000?
If PFAS, VOCs or pharmaceuticals are a concern, yes — the 8500 is certified for those and the 7000 is not. If you mainly want great-tasting everyday drinking water, the 7000 is an excellent value. A free test helps you decide.

“Wow I can definitely feel a difference in my hair, skin, and when I wash my hands. I knew getting a water softener was a priority and I’m so glad I decided to go with Hydrology. I’m thoroughly impressed with the company and the product!”

“I cannot say enough amazing things about this company and system! We had three companies come out and Hydrology stood out on every level. This company is very professional, answered every question we had and even gave us time to think without “pressuring” us to buy! Our water is fabulous the taste and feeling it leaves on skin I am wondering how I have went so long without this system! ”

“We’ve had our system now a month and absolutely love it and we can see and feel the difference immediately. My wife is a hair beautician with over 30 years of experience and definitely can tell the difference with the water which is important for hair and skin. Highly recommend this company and look forward to many years of clean, soft and healthy water!”
