Clack basics
Clack Corporation makes the WS1 control valve used on many whole-home softeners and filters, including our own Hydrology Essentials softener. It is a metered valve: it counts the water you use and regenerates when the resin needs it, not on a fixed timer.

Do you service Clack valves you did not install?
Yes. Clack valves use parts we stock, so it does not matter who put the system in. We look at the whole system while we are there, including how it was plumbed.
My Clack valve shows an error code. What does it mean?
Most codes point to the drive motor, the piston position or the meter. Our Clack WS1 error code guide covers what each one means. If the code comes back after a reset, book a service call.
Is it worth repairing an older Clack valve?
Usually, yes. Clack parts are sold through plumbing supply houses, so a worn piston or seal kit is a repair, not a replacement. If the tank or resin is the real problem, we will tell you that instead.
What warranty comes with a Clack valve from you?
The Clack valve on our Hydrology Essentials softener carries a 5-year warranty through Franklin Electric, the company behind Puronics. Our labor terms are in writing on your quote.
