Our install · a real job, not stock
We fix any brand, not just ours
Salt bridges, resin issues, stuck Fleck or Clack valves, leaks and overdue media changes — on the systems we installed and most others. If it can be repaired, we’ll tell you; if a swap makes more sense, we’ll tell you that too.
Why softeners fail in Sarasota, specifically
Most of what we get called out to here is not a broken softener. It is a softener that was never protected. City of Sarasota disinfects with free chlorine — no chloramine, and chlorine in any form oxidises softener resin — Purolite, who manufacture it, publish that each 1 mg/L roughly halves resin life. Put a bed in without carbon ahead of it and it ages fast, loses capacity, and the owner is told the unit failed.
The other two we see constantly: a unit sized to the wrong grain figure so it regenerates far too often, and a salt bridge in the brine tank that stops regeneration entirely while the valve carries on as if nothing is wrong. Hardness here is softened at the plant, so we measure at your tap.
We will tell you when a repair makes sense and when it does not. Re-bedding a structurally sound tank costs a fraction of replacing it, and we would rather do that than sell you a system you did not need.
Locally: downtown and the older neighborhoods often mean a tight side-yard or a utility closet rather than a garage, and we check the main size on the pre-war homes before quoting.
Figures are from City of Sarasota’s own published water quality report. Where a utility does not publish something, we say so rather than estimate it. The water test is free and carries no obligation.

Common Sarasota fixes
Hard water creeping back (often a salt bridge or a valve stuck on a timer), a rotten-egg sulfur smell, or an RO running slow. A quick diagnosis tells you whether it’s a service or a system that’s reached the end.
Local techs, same number
The people who install also service — no call-center runaround. Same local number, usually a same-day reply, and clean careful work.

“I cannot say enough amazing things about this company and system! We had three companies come out and Hydrology stood out on every level.”
“We’ve had our system now a month and absolutely love it. My wife is a hair beautician with over 30 years of experience and definitely can tell the difference with the water.”
“Wow, I can definitely feel a difference in my hair, skin, and when I wash my hands. I knew getting a water softener was a priority and I’m so glad I decided to go with Hydrology.”

Why is my water softener not working in Sarasota? +
Common causes are a salt bridge in the brine tank, a stuck valve, or settings lost after a power outage. If spots and scale came back, that’s the sign — our techs diagnose and repair it.
My hard water came back — why? +
Usually a salt bridge, a valve running on a timer instead of use, or resin at the end of its life. A quick check tells us which.
Do you service other brands? +
Yes — we repair softeners and filtration of most brands, not just the ones we install.
My water smells like rotten eggs — can you fix it? +
That’s usually hydrogen sulfide (common on wells). It’s handled with the right filtration or injection setup — a free test tells us the levels and the fix.
How soon can you come out? +
Tell us what’s going on and we’ll get you scheduled — usually a same-day reply.
System acting up — salt bridge, no soft water, a stuck valve, or a filter past due? Our own techs repair softeners and filtration of any brand across Sarasota.
