Better-Tasting Drinking Water for Palmetto Homes
Palmetto’s municipal water comes from Manatee County Utilities: a blend of Lake Manatee reservoir water and Floridan aquifer groundwater, chloraminated before it reaches your kitchen. That chloramine treatment is what keeps the water disinfected across the whole distribution system, but it’s also what leaves the chemical taste a lot of Palmetto residents notice when filling a pot or a water bottle straight from the tap.

Palmetto reverse osmosis
Reverse osmosis drinking water
in Palmetto.
We have installed more than 60 water systems in Palmetto, including in Silverstone North and Eaves Bend at Artisan Lakes. The same local tech who tests your water installs the system. No subcontractors.
RO Filters Right Where You Drink and Cook
The Puronics Micromax 7000 is a multi-stage reverse osmosis system installed under your sink, reducing chlorine, chloramine, and dissolved solids so the water from its dedicated faucet is noticeably fresher for drinking, cooking, and making coffee. It’s a targeted fix — rather than filtering every drop of water in the house, it focuses specifically on the water your family actually drinks and cooks with every day.
- Puronics Micromax 7000 — dedicated RO faucet for polished drinking and cooking water
- Puronics Defender iGen — pairs with the Micromax for whole-home hardness control
Our team has completed 60+ installs in and around Palmetto, and our own Hydrology technicians run every RO project personally, from the initial water test through the final connection under your sink. That continuity means the person answering questions about your system months later is someone who was actually there for the install.
What is actually in Palmetto’s drinking water
Your supply comes from City of Palmetto, disinfected with not published. Palmetto buys finished water and the supplier is not named in any public document we could reach. No PFAS was detected in its UCMR5 testing.
The thing worth understanding before you buy: a whole-home softener and an under-sink reverse osmosis unit are certified for almost entirely different lists. The softener handles hardness across the whole house. The RO handles the dissolved-solids side at one tap — lead, nitrate, arsenic, chromium-6, cysts, TDS. Neither covers the other’s list, which is why we fit both rather than pretend one does everything.
Certification is worth checking rather than trusting: reverse osmosis is NSF/ANSI 58, PFAS reduction is NSF/ANSI 53, and NSF/ANSI 372 means the parts are lead-free — it is not a lead removal claim, and quotes misuse it constantly.
Locally: because Palmetto’s published figures conflict, the free test is not a formality here. It is the whole first step, and it takes about twenty minutes at your kitchen sink.
Figures are from City of Palmetto’s own published water quality report. Where a utility does not publish something, we say so rather than estimate it. The water test is free and carries no obligation.

What does a reverse osmosis drinking system remove?
RO reduces a wide range of dissolved contaminants — PFAS, lead, nitrate, fluoride, sodium, and the dissolved solids behind taste and odor. In Palmetto, chloramine and moderate hardness makes better-tasting drinking water a common upgrade. It installs under the kitchen sink.
Is RO better than a fridge or pitcher filter in Palmetto?
A pitcher or fridge filter mainly improves taste; RO removes a far broader list down to a much smaller particle size and gives filtered water on demand from its own faucet. For Palmetto drinking water, RO is the step up.
Does reverse osmosis remove PFAS?
Yes — and we can point at a certification instead of just saying so. Our Micromax 8500 is certified to NSF/ANSI 53 for PFOA and PFOS reduction, which is a third-party tested claim rather than a marketing line. The Micromax 7000 is certified to NSF/ANSI 42, 58 and 372 but not for PFAS, so if PFAS is the reason you are calling, the 8500 is the one to ask about. One caveat: the EPA notes that current certifications do not yet show a filter reduces PFAS all the way down to the new federal limits. A free in-home test tells us what your Palmetto water is actually dealing with.
