Summerfield · Lakewood Ranch
The first Lakewood Ranch village — and its oldest plumbing
Summerfield opened in 1995 as Lakewood Ranch’s first village, and many of its homes date from the late 1990s. That’s nearly three decades of Manatee County water — 6 to 16 grains hard — running through the water heaters, fixtures and older softeners.
So Summerfield calls are different. Some are about an original softener that’s stopped regenerating or started leaking salt water; we’ll try to repair it first, because a rebuild costs far less than a new system. Others are about a first system in a house that has never had one, where the fixtures already show it. Either way we test first and tell you which it is.
We’ve installed in Summerfield, and the same local tech who tests your water does the install.
Why neighbors in Summerfield Village choose Hydrology
Our quality and workmanship is the difference — the plumbing is clean and careful, and we take the extra time to do it right. The equipment is Puronics, backed by a manufacturer warranty from publicly traded Franklin Electric and serviced locally by us. If a job needs a permit, we bring in the licensed plumber we work with.

“I cannot say enough amazing things about this company and system! We had three companies come out and Hydrology stood out on every level.”
“We’ve had our system now a month and absolutely love it. My wife is a hair beautician with over 30 years of experience and definitely can tell the difference with the water.”
“Wow, I can definitely feel a difference in my hair, skin, and when I wash my hands. I knew getting a water softener was a priority and I’m so glad I decided to go with Hydrology.”

What hard water does to a home: the Battelle study →
Can you fix my old softener?
Often, yes — seals, spacers, injectors and valves can be replaced, and we try that before recommending a new system. If the valve is past saving, we’ll show you why.
My water heater is old — will a softener help?
It stops new scale from forming. Scale already in an older tank stays there, so a softener protects the next water heater more than the current one.
Is Summerfield on Manatee County water?
Yes — 106–279 mg/L of hardness and chloramine at 3.3 ppm on average in the county’s 2025 report.
